About the role
- Develop design standards and provide technical leadership and expertise for complex electrical transmission design projects for high-voltage overhead and underground projects.
- Define design requirements to support transmission line design and construction on projects from 34.5kV overhead MV to 500kV.
- Manage and coordinate sub-consultants to support utility crossings for transmission lines.
- Route and site new transmission lines for prospective and pipeline projects.
- Review engineering submittals from consultants and EORs.
- Coordinate with substation engineering, Land, Permitting, real estate, and EPC teams.
Requirements
- Degree or Advanced Degree in Engineering
- 15+ years of experience in transmission line engineering experience in electrical utility industry.
- Extensive experience in PLS-CADD, PLS-CAISSON, PLS-POLE, PLS-SAPS
- Extensive experience in design codes and standards such as: NESC, IEEE, ASCE & ACI.
- Experienced in coordination between substation engineering, Land, Permitting, real estate, and EPC teams.
- Strong Project Management skillset and experience
- Self-starter who can work on multiple projects with various deadlines across the development pipeline.
- Strong ability to communicate with internal Development team and electric utilities.
