About the role

  • Work with product owner and be responsible for critical aspects of digital platform.
  • Own and drive the best practices with other MDC expert in a team to connect different machines through sensors/communication protocols (like OPCUA, MQTT, etc.) to a digital platform, enabling data integrity and facilitating real-time insights.
  • Establish and maintain reliable data connections between various industrial machines and the company’s digital platform.
  • Implement and troubleshoot connectivity solutions for different machine types, including PLCs, sensors, SCADA systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and other IT teams to integrate machine-generated data into digital platforms and cloud services.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends related to industrial data connectivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in machine connectivity, industrial automation, IoT, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience with connectivity protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC-UA, MQTT, RESTful APIs), protocol converters/gateways.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery and systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, sensors, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in computer networks, networking and TCP/IP.
  • Experience in working with cloud platforms and data integration tools (e.g., Azure).
  • Ability to drive the machine data connectivity independently in global manufacturing setup by collaborating with different production units globally.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (writing, speaking) with different global stakeholders as appropriate to capture requirements, resolve issues and document.
  • Knowledge of networking programming.
  • Knowledge in Docker, Kubernetes on Azure (ACR) or other cloud services is a plus.
  • Knowledge in cyber security is a plus.
  • Knowledge of tools like Jenkins, Jira is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Redis, NoSQL, DB2 would be a plus.

  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
