About the role
- Lead end-to-end NPD process from ideation through to launch, managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Identify market trends, consumer insights, and whitespace opportunities in skincare/beauty
- Develop product briefs and collaborate with R&D partners and contract manufacturers to create innovative formulations
- Manage relationships with suppliers, labs, and packaging vendors to ensure quality and cost-efficiency
- Coordinate stability testing, regulatory compliance, and claims substantiation
- Work closely with Marketing on positioning, packaging design, and launch strategy
- Manage product costs, margins, and MOQs to meet commercial targets
- Stay current on ingredient trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in key markets (US, UK, AU, EU)
- Support existing product improvements, reformulations, and line extensions
Requirements
- 3+ years of NPD experience in skincare, beauty, haircare, or personal care
- Proven track record of launching successful products in competitive beauty markets
- Strong understanding of cosmetic formulation, ingredients, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with regulatory requirements across US, EU, UK, and Australian markets
- Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple launches simultaneously
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and third-party labs
- Strong commercial acumen with understanding of margin optimization and cost negotiation
- Passion for skincare and a finger on the pulse of industry trends
- Nice to Have
- Cosmetic science degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience with DTC/e-commerce brands
- Experience launching on Amazon marketplace
- Knowledge of clean/natural beauty formulation and claims
- Experience with sustainability initiatives and eco-friendly packaging
