About the role
- Lead and manage a team of full-stack engineers to deliver customer-driven solutions
- Use data to uncover opportunities, drive customer acquisition, and build seamless online self-serve experiences
- Lead experiments, MVPs, and product launches that accelerate the self-serve growth engine
- Support individual engineer growth through mentoring, coaching, and career-pathing
- Collaborate with senior engineers to drive technical strategy and set engineering standards
- Set quarterly goals and balance product/engineering priorities for maximum impact
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to develop new products and enhance existing ones
- Drive roadmapping discussions and influence cross-organizational initiatives
- Perform code reviews and ensure proper design and delivery of major features
- Be hands-on and contribute to feature development
- Ensure high reliability of components and champion Samsara’s cultural principles
- Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience
- 1+ years of direct people management experience leading a full-stack product development team
- Experience developing individual contributors through mentoring, coaching, and career-pathing
- Experience collaborating with Product Managers and Designers
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one layer of the technical stack (JavaScript, Python)
- Experience with modern web technologies (JavaScript, Vue)
- Experience with GraphQL and various AWS services
- Experience building, delivering, and managing large-scale customer-facing products (preferred)
- Experience working on Growth Engineering teams and/or solving business growth problems (preferred)
- Interest in understanding users and improving user workflows
