About the role
- Samsara is the Connected Operations Cloud leader helping physical operations via IoT data to develop actionable insights and improve operations. \n
- In this role, you will work with the Head of Financial Reporting to drive all SEC financial reporting activities. You will also own the accounting and reporting for the Company’s equity awards, and help drive initiatives to improve the Company’s external reporting process. You will work closely with the Accounting team and across the organization (Tax, Legal, Finance, Investor Relations), as well as with external auditors and consultants. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, analytical, thrives in a fast-paced environment, highly organized and detail-oriented, and is comfortable problem-solving and building effective relationships across the Company.\n
- This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.\n

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.\n
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.\n
- Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in financial reporting, including at least 1 year of experience at a public company or public accounting firm.\n
- Experience with ASC 718 principles.\n
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), accounting processes, and SOX requirements.\n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
