About the role
- Samsara is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud helping organizations use IoT data to improve physical operations
- Safety Triage & Insights team builds systems across web, mobile, and API surfaces to identify unsafe driving behaviors and enable remediation
- Partner with ML & AI teams to ingest sensor and media data, detect risky behaviors, and integrate LLMs to analyze safety events and surface insights
- Develop intelligent, proactive products that move fleets from reactive coaching to strategic, data-driven safety management
- Architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack, scalable, AI-driven safety products using technologies like Golang, GraphQL, Typescript, React, and MySQL
- Collaborate with design, product, and support teams to refine workflows based on customer input
- Own the operational health of production systems and champion Samsara’s cultural principles
- This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US and Canada
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong programming/coding fundamentals in a language such as Java, Python, or Golang
- Knowledge of designing, architecting, developing, and monitoring full-stack applications at scale
- Familiarity with integrating LLMs into products, including running evaluations and creating feedback loops to improve accuracy and usefulness of generated insights
- Experience using data to investigate issues and make the right call to resolve them
- An ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver on project milestones with your team
- A growth mindset and excitement around building new skills and expertise
- (Ideal) Experience leveraging tools such as Langfuse or Eino for evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement, and optimizing LLM-powered systems for cost and token efficiency
- (Ideal) Background in web application development using modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Svelte
- (Ideal) Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and experience designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications
- (Ideal) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
