About the role
- Define and execute the strategic vision for competitive intelligence and market foresight within Workforce Innovation
- Lead the development of market intelligence frameworks that anticipate workforce disruption and inform enterprise-wide strategy
- Build executive partnerships across ES Product, GTM, Workforce Intelligence, and Operations to embed intelligence into strategic planning cycles
- Lead the monitoring and synthesis of the competitive landscape across hyperscalers, AI-native startups, and talent competitors to identify workforce innovation trends, emerging job architectures, skills economies, and organizational design patterns
- Establish competitive intelligence frameworks and executive briefings that translate market signals into strategic implications for workforce transformation with clear recommendations and decision frameworks
- Build proprietary research methodologies that synthesize insights from academia, think tanks, industry analysts and thought leaders to identify high-impact trends 12-18 months before they become mainstream
- Design predictive models that track competitor talent strategies, organizational moves, and external hiring signals to inform enterprise role taxonomy, total rewards strategy, and employer brand positioning
- Serve as the team’s futurist on workforce trends, providing market intelligence that shapes multi-year strategic planning and investment decisions
- Partner with leadership to translate complex research into strategic narratives that drive organizational change and innovation
- Lead the development of thought leadership content (research reports, white papers, presentations, etc.) that establishes Salesforce as the definitive voice in agentic workforce transformation
- Build and scale the competitive intelligence function, including establishing operating rhythms, and creating scalable processes
- Cultivate a world-class external intelligence network including researchers, industry analysts, workforce innovation practitioners, and academic institutions
- Design and facilitate executive-level innovation labs and strategy sessions
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in competitive intelligence, market research, strategy consulting, or workforce/organizational strategy roles
- Demonstrated success building intelligence capabilities that drove measurable business impact at the enterprise level
- Exceptional track record of influencing C-suite decision-making through strategic insights and market intelligence
- Proven ability to translate complex market dynamics into strategic frameworks that inform multi-year planning and investment decisions
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to build credibility with senior executives and serve as a trusted strategic advisor
- Systems thinking at scale—you see patterns across industries, anticipate second-order effects, and architect frameworks that create competitive advantage
- Deep expertise in emerging AI technologies, agentic systems, human-AI collaboration models, and their implications for organizational design and workforce strategy
- Track record of building and scaling high-performing teams and establishing operational excellence in research/intelligence functions.
