About the role
- Develop electrical system designs in accordance with project scope, client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards
- Provide engineering planning, design, and construction administration services for power distribution systems, lighting, fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, and other low voltage systems
- Perform existing building surveys and document current electrical and fire alarm conditions
- Prepare, edit, and coordinate electrical specifications and construction documents
- Author engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents
- Coordinate closely with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines
- Participate in and lead technical discussions, design coordination meetings, and client presentations
- Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination as needed
- Assist Project Managers with technical input, schedule coordination, and project execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience
- Experience with healthcare, science and technology, education, and/or commercial buildings
- Knowledge of and experience with HCAI / OSHPD standards is a plus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience preferred
- Proficiency in electrical engineering calculations
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and design guidelines
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
- Excellent work ethic with a proactive, solution-oriented attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
