About the role

  • Manage a competitive retirement, financial and education benefits strategy that cost-effectively meets the evolving needs of our diverse employee base and promotes financial wellbeing.
  • Oversee administration for our US and Canada retirement, financial and education benefit programs, including data and integrations across internal and external systems and partners.
  • Develop and execute controls to ensure benefits are well managed and mitigate operational risk.
  • Develop communication strategies to engage employees in exploring available benefit programs, taking an active role in managing their overall financial wellbeing.
  • Manage and develop strong partnerships with the plan recordkeepers, investment advisor, and third-party administrator.
  • Assess vendor performance regularly and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and ensure seamless administration.
  • Complete in-depth due diligence during the M&A process related to retirement benefit packages.
  • Partner with vendors and incoming M&A entities to ensure the retirement plan merger process is thorough and complete.
  • Recommend revisions and modifications to plans based on performance in conjunction with our investment advisor, recordkeeper, and third-party administrator.
  • Provide support and assistance to employees with benefit-related inquiries, claims, and issues.
  • Act as the point of contact for escalated benefit matters and offer timely resolutions.
  • Develop processes and procedures to assure timely and accurate reporting and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including ERISA, DOL and other applicable laws.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, best practices, and legal and regulatory changes in retirement planning and administration.
  • Lead the annual retirement audit process and internal retirement committee

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum Five years’ experience working with corporate retirement plans required
  • Strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities including management of retirement/investment committees required
  • Extensive M&A experience including benefit comparisons, plan terminations and 401(k) mergers preferred
  • Knowledge of different retirement plan types and operations preferred
  • Experience with Canada RRSP plans is helpful
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Extensive knowledge of retirement plan programs, including federal legislation
  • Ability to influence and manage change within a virtual environment
  • Superior verbal and written communication
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel skills a must
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
