About the role

  • Supervise the venue’s security positions during designated shift(s)
  • Update briefing/post materials for officers in a timely manner
  • Investigate incidents and prepare accurate, detailed incident reports for both daily operations and event‑related situations.
  • Conduct informative shift briefings with incoming/outgoing Officers & Supervisors
  • Ensure all posts are safe, in order & clean
  • Have full knowledge of the venue’s layout and Security Systems
  • Conduct periodic post checks & correct performance issues
  • Train staff in basic guest service & security skills and be capable of performing duties at all posts
  • Provide leadership & guidance to staff. Serve as mentor/coach to Security Team
  • Exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff and lead by example
  • Conduct and investigate venue security requests
  • Resolve escalated issues, provide appropriate warnings and complete ejections if necessary
  • Have full knowledge of the venue’s emergency procedures
  • Ensure staff enforcement & guest compliance of venue’s Event Policies at all times
  • Provide direction to security staff and ensure event requirements are met
  • Know and uphold the Security Dept's Prime Directives, most importantly our mission to take reasonable steps to protect the safety & security of our venue's guests, employees and assets with respect towards everyone's dignity and legal rights
  • Work closely with Security Director and Manager(s)

Requirements

  • California Issued Guard Card
  • A minimum education level of High School Diploma or equivalency
  • 2-4 years of Supervisory level experience (preferred)
  • Ability to effectively perform in crises and work under pressure without loss of composure
  • Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant information
  • Willingness to accept additional responsibility and assignments
  • Ability to maintain good work relationships with all employees & management staff
  • Ability to interact effectively & calmly with angry or emotional guests, etc.. during intensely aggravated situations
  • Ability to represent the Security Dept. and the Venue’s in an exemplary manner
  • Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
  • Minimum education of high school diploma or its equivalency
  • 0 - 2+ years in a sports and entertainment venue preferred
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Understand the rule of law and relevant penal codes
  • Ability to represent the Security Dept. in an exemplary manner
  • Ability to maintain good business relations with all the employees & managers in all depts.
  • Ability to effectively perform in crises and work under pressure without loss of composure
  • Ability to maintain patron, employee and company confidentiality
  • Ability to acquire a California Guard Card at your own expense. This is required before an Officer can work and be scheduled.
Benefits
  • Current guard card applicants will receive $30 towards renewal reimbursement after completion of 30 events with no disciplinary actions and or attendants' issues.
