About the role
- Oversee the full customer payment lifecycle to ensure timely collection of incoming payments
- Maintain accurate customer account records
- Develop effective credit and collection strategies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt
- Assist with new customer onboarding including, but not limited to, setting up payment profiles for new customers to establish a means of collecting payments
- Process payments from clients and perform reconciliation between amounts invoiced and amounts paid
- Monitor customer payment behaviors and autonomously flag at-risk accounts and developing high-risk situations to internal leadership
- Collaborate with clients, finance and accounting to resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries
- Manage communication with internal stakeholders and clients surrounding overdue payments
- Perform customer credit evaluations and set credit limits as needed
- Analyze receivables aging reports and prepare regular status reports for leadership
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounts receivable operations
- Work with operations team members on internal cash flow and revenue recognition projects
- Proactively iterate customer-facing messaging to ensure engagement
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in either customer care, sales, collections, or interacting with a customer base
- Effective communication (both written and verbal)
- Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented analytical skills
- Proficiency in Google Sheets (including Vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
- Attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
- A patient, polite, and friendly attitude
- Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
- A quick and flexible learner with a motivated and positive work ethic
- Ability to receive feedback and apply coaching
- A team player who can collaborate with colleagues from different departments towards a common goal for customers
- Willingness to collaborate on process improvement projects and a constant desire to improve existing systems
- Proficiency with AR tools/software (e.g. YayPay) (not a must, but a plus)
- Experience in and/or knowledge of the digital marketing industry (not a must, but a plus)
