About the role

  • Oversee the full customer payment lifecycle to ensure timely collection of incoming payments
  • Maintain accurate customer account records
  • Develop effective credit and collection strategies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt
  • Assist with new customer onboarding including, but not limited to, setting up payment profiles for new customers to establish a means of collecting payments
  • Process payments from clients and perform reconciliation between amounts invoiced and amounts paid
  • Monitor customer payment behaviors and autonomously flag at-risk accounts and developing high-risk situations to internal leadership
  • Collaborate with clients, finance and accounting to resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries
  • Manage communication with internal stakeholders and clients surrounding overdue payments
  • Perform customer credit evaluations and set credit limits as needed
  • Analyze receivables aging reports and prepare regular status reports for leadership
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounts receivable operations
  • Work with operations team members on internal cash flow and revenue recognition projects
  • Proactively iterate customer-facing messaging to ensure engagement

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in either customer care, sales, collections, or interacting with a customer base
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets (including Vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
  • A patient, polite, and friendly attitude
  • Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
  • A quick and flexible learner with a motivated and positive work ethic
  • Ability to receive feedback and apply coaching
  • A team player who can collaborate with colleagues from different departments towards a common goal for customers
  • Willingness to collaborate on process improvement projects and a constant desire to improve existing systems
  • Proficiency with AR tools/software (e.g. YayPay) (not a must, but a plus)
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of the digital marketing industry (not a must, but a plus)
