About the role

  • Assist in the creation, updating, and maintenance of large-format maps (A0 scale) for the GEPS product suite.
  • Edit and manage spatial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to cartographic standards.
  • Apply appropriate symbology, labelling, and design principles to maps and related products.
  • Collaborate with regional experts to validate geographic content and ensure local accuracy.
  • Work to a publication schedule, meeting deadlines for map production and updates.
  • Support the development of new map types and cartographic content enhancements.
  • Respond to ad-hoc mapping requests, producing accurate and timely outputs.
  • Participate in team discussions regarding workflow improvements, cartographic standards, and product innovation.
  • Maintain organized records of spatial data sources, edits, and production processes.

Requirements

  • Cartography, Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Demonstrated experience using GIS and cartographic software such as ArcGIS, Arc Pro, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of spatial data formats (shapefiles, geodatabases, raster data, etc.) and data management best practices.
  • Basic understanding of cartographic principles, symbology, and spatial analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Excel & Word.
