About the role
- Act as the primary analyst for housing credits of varying size and complexity, demonstrating expertise in public finance housing sector analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive analyses for internal rating committee presentations and external publication, showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Oversee annual surveillance activities for your assigned portfolio of credits, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery.
- Actively participate in rating committees as a contributing team member, providing well-reasoned analytical perspectives.
- Write rating summaries and analytical reports that synthesize complex analysis into clear, well-supported conclusions demonstrating mastery of S&P methodologies and financial markets understanding.
- Communicate rating results and analysis effectively to diverse stakeholders including clients, financial intermediaries, investors, and media, while publishing timely industry commentaries and thought leadership pieces.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in business, public policy, public administration, or related field preferred)
- 2+ years of extensive experience related to Public Finance, with Public Finance Housing sector experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively under general guidance while exercising decision-making authority.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, with ability to integrate and communicate complex information within the public finance specialization.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment while thriving in independent work situations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with consistent ability to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines.
