About the role

  • Lead initiatives to analyze complex business problems and build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and DAX, delivering actionable analytics to business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage ETL/ELT workflows using SQL, integrating diverse data sources on our Snowflake data lake.
  • Create and enforce protocols to ensure data integrity, compliance, and adherence to established standards.
  • Partner with business users, analysts, and leadership to understand requirements and deliver efficient, data-driven solutions.
  • Develop scalable automated processes and scripts to enhance efficiency in data handling and reporting that are cost effective.
  • Identify and address issues related to data quality and operational performance in the BI environment.
  • Train and onboard end-users to effectively utilize reporting tools and self-service BI solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Snowflake data lake (or similar cloud data lake platform) and advanced SQL for data integration, modelling, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in Power BI and DAX for dashboard and report development.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong data visualization and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Visualisation, or Analytics.
  • Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Looker, Databricks, Visier).
  • Experience with Python scripting for automation, data manipulation, and integration with machine learning workflows.
  • Experience within a People function, Financial Services or regulated institution and/or working with sensitive data.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD for engineering or BI solutions.
  • Experience in agile (Azure DevOps/JIRA) or cross-functional teams.
