About the role

  • Responsible for sourcing transportation providers and providing tracking updates as needed to support customer requests
  • Develop a carrier coverage strategy and have full autonomy for supporting a customer's truckload & LTL coverage needs
  • Directly engage with Account Executives, Shipment Management Associates (SMA) and Business Development Managers to build a network of service providers
  • Tender, accept/reject loads, create loads, set appointments, dispatch, track and trace loads
  • Identify and develop relationships with transportation providers to ensure adequate coverage
  • Negotiate rates with transportation providers to achieve commission targets and account goals
  • Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma/GED, required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field, preferred
  • 3 years or more in business experience, required
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Industry, carrier modes & services and basic Supply Chain design and functionality. Advanced, required
  • Knowledge and support of RIL policies and procedures. Advanced, required
  • Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word. Clear understanding of SMS legacy system. Intermediate, required
  • Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements. Intermediate, required.
