Responsible for sourcing transportation providers and providing tracking updates as needed to support customer requests
Develop a carrier coverage strategy and have full autonomy for supporting a customer's truckload & LTL coverage needs
Directly engage with Account Executives, Shipment Management Associates (SMA) and Business Development Managers to build a network of service providers
Tender, accept/reject loads, create loads, set appointments, dispatch, track and trace loads
Identify and develop relationships with transportation providers to ensure adequate coverage
Negotiate rates with transportation providers to achieve commission targets and account goals
Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads
Requirements
H.S. Diploma/GED, required
Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field, preferred
3 years or more in business experience, required
Working knowledge of Transportation Industry, carrier modes & services and basic Supply Chain design and functionality. Advanced, required
Knowledge and support of RIL policies and procedures. Advanced, required
Demonstrated PC skills in MS Access, Excel, Word. Clear understanding of SMS legacy system. Intermediate, required
Understanding of assigned customer, customer product and distribution requirements. Intermediate, required.
