Provide technical oversight of supplier-designed products from proposal through production, ensuring they meet performance and schedule requirements.
Play a key role in selecting and evaluating suppliers, developing sourcing strategies, and creating design packages.
Act as the main technical contact between suppliers, the program team, and internal engineering and operations groups.
Lead the development of system-level requirements and detailed design documentation to guide product development.
Manage project planning, identify technical risks, and drive mitigation strategies to keep the program on track.
Participate in supplier design and testing reviews, including early concept reviews, design milestones, test witnessing, and technical investigations.
Address and resolve technical and manufacturing challenges, ensuring designs are both functional and producible.
Travel to supplier facilities when needed and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including process updates and sharing lessons learned.
Requirements
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Power Electronics
Hands-on experience in aerospace product development, including design and integration of electrical or electromechanical systems
Knowledge and experience with DO-160 testing and verification processes
Proven success participating in or leading design reviews (conceptual, preliminary, critical, etc.)
Experience managing complex projects or working directly with suppliers in project engineering or project management capacity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for technical reporting and project tracking
Familiarity with DOORS (for requirements management), PLM systems, and CAD tools (preferred but not required)
