About the role

  • Provide real-time technical support with manufacturers to ensure design requirements are clear and correct
  • Troubleshoot drawing issues involving materials, paints and finishes, welding and brazing, GD&T, marking, and testing
  • Interface daily with Raytheon subject matter experts and responsible engineers
  • Communicate technical issues across functional areas and document technical details
  • Conduct in-person meetings with Raytheon engineers and external manufacturers at local facilities
  • Encourage suppliers to engage early in the production phase
  • Define the appropriate Universal Commodity Code (UCC) to categorize parts for procurement
  • Create Supplier Change Request Notification (SCRN) records within cPDM for program review
  • Support primary commodities: Mechanical Assembly; Machined, Forged, Casted Components; Harness/Cable Fabrication; Circuit Card Assembly; General Electrical Components
  • Domestic travel 10-20%

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Manufacturing or mechanical design in a manufacturing environment
  • Use of 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ProE, CREO
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Technical drawing interpretation
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking capabilities
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge and ability to apply lean principles and techniques (Six Sigma, CORE)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Domestic travel 10-20%
  • Preferred: degrees in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical or Electrical
  • Preferred: active DoD security clearance (confidential, secret)
