About the role
- Lead the SE development activities within UTMD program, including algorithm development, requirements, simulations, mission plans, customer briefings, integration and test plans, and integration and test reports.
- Manage the execution and delivery of all SE work products to ensure technical, schedule, and cost expectations of the program are met.
- Determine the allocation of personnel within the team and work with other functional leads in support of multidisciplinary agile development.
- Support proposal development across numerous contracts, and the continual improvement of people, processes and tools.
- Frequent interactions with leaders from other CPTs and Departments, including the Software CPT, System Integration & Test CPT, System Security Engineering Department, and the Radar Capabilities Integrated Product Team (IPT).
- Be part of the core team that defines and leads the technical execution of systems engineering scope in requirements, algorithm development, simulation, cyber security, program protection, sustainment, and performance assessment for the AN/TPY-2 and XBR systems.
- Responsible for technical program reviews, development of the team’s technical bench strength, active management of Risks and Opportunities, preparation and presentation of Directorate Estimate at Completion (EACs), Directorate level proposals, staffing projections and monthly tracking.
- Report directly to the CPTL within the Missile Defense Programs SE Cross Product Team (CPT) organization.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading a technical team
- Experience in managing cost, schedule, or technical performance for programs
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience leading multi-disciplined teams on radar development programs for DOD and FMS customers (We Prefer)
- Experience in radar algorithm design, performance analysis, cyber security, and program protection (We Prefer)
- Understanding, and compliance with, DoD technology release and export licensing policies (We Prefer)
- Experience of working with customer/program office in fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements (We Prefer)
- Experience creating and using metrics to inform data driven decisions (We Prefer)
- Proposal experience for various capture efforts (We Prefer)
- Experience in Integrated Product Development System, Gate Reviews and Tracking Books (We Prefer)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- PhD/Master’s Degree in Engineering, or relevant discipline (Math, Physics or Business) (We Prefer)
- U.S. work authorization: U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance
