About the role
- Build, lead, and develop a multi-level systems engineering organization supporting the SAOC program
- Mentor and grow systems engineering managers and technical leads; establish clear expectations, accountability, and succession plans
- Partner with program, engineering, and functional leadership to align staffing, skills, and capacity to program demand
- Establish and reinforce disciplined systems engineering practices, processes, and standards across the portfolio
- Drive workforce planning, hiring strategy, onboarding, and talent development to ensure long-term organizational health
- Provide leadership oversight for execution across the full development lifecycle, ensuring commitments are met on cost, schedule, and performance
- Foster a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement in support of mission-critical delivery
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and integration within large, complex programs
- Minimum of 5+ years experience leading engineering teams of 20+ employees, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration in a technical development environment
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
