About the role
- Onsite internship for modeling and simulation (Mod Sim) using Python-based proprietary Mod Sim software
- Support design, development, and utilization of medium-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments
- Contribute to evaluating intern-level appropriate work across a wide range of problems to answer operational questions
- Contribute to mission-level system modeling and data analysis activities to support new business, system-of-systems design, and operational impacts of new concepts of operations
- Collaborate with team using inputs from program, external customers, or team experts
- Learn modeling & simulation principles and skills while working on projects across multiple military operational domains (aerospace, maritime, subsurface, land)
- Support and build Mod Sim software and analyze results to influence the product lifecycle
- Develop and implement model-based solutions to support mission trade studies using mission level simulations
- Innovate and explore ideas which make a difference
Requirements
- Must be a rising Senior by the start of Summer 2026 majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or equivalent
- Academic experience of modeling and simulation, or related disciplines
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- DoD Clearance: Secret
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required
- Completion of at least one course in data analysis and/or statistics
- Coursework or demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: Software development processes/object-oriented software design; Scripting languages such as Python, Shell or Perl; Numerical computing environments such as MATLAB; AI/ML and high-performance computing (HPC) grids
- Specific majors preferred: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Applied Math, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
