About the role
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise / Microsoft Windows environment
- Troubleshoot technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity including integration of hardware and operating systems
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures
- Lead and coordinate the Red Hat Installation and configuration
- Design, develop and deploy Red Hat Podman containers
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users
- Documenting and training on advanced IT processes and procedures
- Occasionally work beyond standard work hours for 24x7 operational systems
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
- Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- Experience troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity
- Experience with RedHat Enterprise / Microsoft Windows environment
- Experience with Red Hat Installation and configuration
- Experience designing, developing and deploying Red Hat Podman containers
- Experience with Server, Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, RAID, backup and server replication methods
- Experience documenting and training on advanced IT processes and procedures
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Server, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup
- Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Linux Desktops, Windows desktops (Windows 10, 11), Splunk and ESX
- Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions (preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange (preferred)
- High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment (preferred)
- Scripting Experience (preferred)
- Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF (preferred)
