About the role
- Define and evolve human-centered design practices across teams and portfolios, ensuring consistent, high-impact use of design thinking.
- Design and lead high-impact, cross-functional workshops to align business leaders, technologists, product managers and subject matter experts around customer outcomes and product strategies that drive business impact.
- Set and oversee user research strategy across multiple products and domains in aerospace, defense, operations and supply chain.
- Establish rigorous and impactful user research practices.
- Ensure insights inform product and business strategy.
- Own and drive end-to-end user experience outcomes across a portfolio of enterprise products with hands-on involvement from discovery through user adoption and sustainment.
- Communicate product vision, research insights and design strategy to executives and cross-functional leaders to drive alignment and action.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with cross-functional leadership to ensure design excellence is embedded in product and technical decision-making.
- Shape design standards, patterns and systems that enable scalable, high-quality product experiences across the enterprise.
- Build, mentor and develop a high-performing design team. Fostering a culture of craft excellence, collaboration, career development and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
- 10+ years of experience in digital product design including experience operating at a leadership level across multiple teams, products or domains.
- Advanced degree in HCI, human factors, or related field.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.
- Led design for data-intensive, analytics, or AI/ML products.
- Led senior design teams in large, multi-business-unit enterprises.
