About the role
- Serve as the primary point of contact for supply chain matters on key programs, providing regular updates to leadership.
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies to meet program and organizational objectives for approximately 20 identified suppliers, as well as future suppliers.
- Support rapid non-product procurement of computational hardware, services, software, equipment, automation, sustainment, consulting, and related support.
- Perform site visits, as requested, to support capability assessments, negotiations, qualifications, performance discussions and other supplier-related activities.
- Lead cross-functional teams to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
- Brief the factory team on progress, bottlenecks, management of backlog, requisition burn-down and other procurement activities associated with identified suppliers/projects.
- Oversee high-value, complex procurement activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Analyze supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain continuity of operations, including engaging strategic sourcing to identify new critical technology suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams, to align supply chain activities with program requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, and cost, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Mentor, train & develop team for career progression.
- Travel as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related discipline; OR an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience with government contracting and knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations.
- Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- 5+ years of experience working with supply chain management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience with different funding mechanisms, including capital- and program-specific funding.
- Acumen relative to small business requirements in federal contracting.
