About the role
- Performs preliminary review and Material Review Board analysis of First Article Inspection Reports and disposition of nonconforming material
- Evaluates Collins Aerospace or supplier products and processes
- Analyzes root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner
- Provides support to manufacturing operations in the review of products and of engineering and manufacturing processes
- Maintains a working relationship with key customer procurement organizations to the benefit of the customer and Collins Aerospace
- Maintains quality data records, compiles information, and prepares reports for internal and external customers
- Works under moderate supervision to assist with the development and implementation of program quality plans and procedures
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Experience in a quality organization
- Read and Interpretation of engineering drawings (Dimension, tolerance, and basic GD&T Symbology)
- Familiar with industry specification and standards interpretation
- Familiar with inspection methods and techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with continuous improvement principles, Six Sigma, lean, 5S etc.
- Familiar with problem solving techniques like PDCA
- Able to make quick decisions based in facts and risk analysis, even under high-pressured situations
- Familiar with AS9102 and or First Article Inspection process and requirements
- Experience in supplier quality or supplier management and development
