About the role

  • Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work.
  • Interpret and explain these requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements.
  • Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including: Root Cause Corrective Actions, Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.
  • Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and implementation of necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.
  • Perform defect data analysis and review with the program managers and supplier management, which will assist in developing Supplier improvement plans.
  • Lead and participate on multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on six sigma, lean practices and other analytical improvement methods and tools.
  • Identify and document supplier risk; develop mitigation plans to reduce, eliminate and prevent supplied product defects.
  • Support containment activities associated with discrepant material, with assistance from functional stakeholders.
  • Drive the supplier corrective action process, review, approval and monitoring; assure containment, closed loop Root Cause Corrective Action is obtained; communicate issue and resolution to functional stakeholders.
  • You should anticipate some travel (Up to 25%) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews at supplier locations.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
  • 8 years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with one or more of the following Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
  • Previous experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
  • Experience implementing modern Quality Assurance and Control methodologies such as Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Continuous Improvement in a supplier setting.
  • Previous experience generating and presenting to leadership and suppliers key metrics and performance reviews.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
