About the role
- Mechanical Design Engineer Intern responsible for providing engineering deliverables through all phases of development, bid and proposals, support through qualification testing, and initial production implementation.
Propose new technology, create innovative design solutions, execute design reviews, work directly with customers, and support testing of the ejection seat products.
Partner with System Engineering, Test Engineering, and Program Management.
Support program by technical writing presentations and reports for customer approval.
Utilize UG/NX CAD software and facilitate drafting department to produce models/drawings.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
U.S. citizenship is required
Advancing towards a B.S. in Engineering, Aerospace or Mechanical preferred
Student candidate must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and excellent communications skills
Strong analytical skills including strong knowledge of physics, dynamics, and statics
Experience presenting design solutions to internal and external customers
3D CAD experience with high end CAD software ( e.q . NX, Catia,)
Previous experience using Unigraphics/NX CAD experience including Enovia PLM experience
Previous experience in the aerospace and defense industry
Previous experience with aircraft cockpit, crew station, escape system, ejection seat, or crew systems design
Previous experience with machining, sheet metal, composites, and fabric design
Previous experience with energetic cartridge actuated devices or propellant actuated devices
Previous experience of aerospace/military specifications
Previous experience with FEA or Strength hand calculations
