About the role
- As part of the Sensors team based in Burnsville, Minnesota the Mechanical Engineer Intern will work in the Air Data Sensors (ADS) design team and be responsible for working on integrated product teams to develop new, advanced air data sensors products while also supporting existing products in production.
The Mechanical Intern will be part of an integrated research and development team focused on developing new sensor technology.
You will be engaged in new and existing product design, including but not limited to the design of sensor packaging, prototype build/test activities, design for manufacturing, and documentation.
Provide support to Design Engineers in areas such as: mechanical CAD design, thermal analysis, material science, system testing, data collection, and analyzing test data
Participate in design decision making and lab prototype testing
Work fluidly within multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams executing projects according to plan
Access to a world class wind tunnel, environmental test lab, and forensics investigation lab to help our team continue delivering industry leading air data solutions.
The engineer intern will be a highly motivated self-starter capable of driving tasks and small projects to completion on time and on budget.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
