Design, develop, and integrate Collins products within the Test Equipment Environment in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit designs, and analyses.
Contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development and manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop proven hardware designs that meet system performance and operational specifications.
Lead and perform circuit card design lifecycle activities, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, circuit design analysis like Performance, Stability, ESD/Lightning, Decoupling and Signal/Power Integrity analysis, creation of board stackup and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, root cause analysis, and integration.
Design, document, verify, support, test, and troubleshoot digital hardware for communication products using electrical engineering principles and techniques.
Requirements
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Proven experience in designing and developing test equipment for communication systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, circuit design, and hardware integration.
Experience with testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware.
Experience with commonly used electrical engineering design and analysis tools, including but not limited to: NX ECAD 2D/2D design, Siemens DX Designer and Expedition formerly know as Mentor Graphics, Creo MBSE Schematic, Altium PCB Layout, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, KiCAD, etc.
Experience with commonly used test equipment, including but not limited to: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, Power Meters.
Experience with signal integrity and timing analyses for creating robust circuit card designs.
