About the role
- Design, develop, and integrate Collins products within the Test Equipment Environment in multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit designs, and analyses
- Contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development and manage technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop proven hardware designs that meet system performance and operational specifications
- Lead and perform circuit card design lifecycle activities, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, circuit design analysis like Performance, Stability, ESD/Lightning, Decoupling and Signal/Power Integrity analysis, creation of board stackup and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, root cause analysis, and integration
- Design, document, verify, support, test, and troubleshoot digital hardware for communication products using electrical engineering principles and techniques.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
- Proven experience in designing and developing test equipment for communication systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, circuit design, and hardware integration
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware
- Experience with commonly used electrical engineering design and analysis tools, including but not limited to: NX ECAD 2D/2D design, Siemens DX Designer and Expedition formerly know as Mentor Graphics, Creo MBSE Schematic, Altium PCB Layout, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, KiCAD, etc.
- Experience with commonly used test equipment, including but not limited to: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, Power Meters
- Experience with signal integrity and timing analyses for creating robust circuit card designs
- Hands-on experience testing circuit card assemblies and performing design verification activities
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, including planning, tracking, and managing hardware development tasks in JIRA
- FPGA design and testing knowledge.
