About the role
- Ensure adherence to internal revenue regulations, including Expanded Withholding Tax, Value-Added Tax, and Income Tax.
- Prepare and reconcile quarterly and annual tax submissions for the Philippines and India markets.
- Manage tax filings and payments, ensuring timely and accurate submission within statutory deadlines.
- Compile and provide documentation for tax audits and liaise with authorities during regulatory audits.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead monthly and yearly closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Conduct fluctuation analysis to identify financial trends and variances, and present insights to management.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual financial audits.
- Oversee daily accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Manage and process manual payments, monitoring cash flow to ensure operational efficiency.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to validate the accuracy of financial records.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to align and consolidate the annual budget, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Support the preparation of the annual budget by providing accurate data and actionable insights.
- Conduct monthly forecasting activities to project financial outcomes and inform decision-making.
- Assist in financial and tax audits for the Philippines and India operations, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to address audit findings and implement corrective measures.
- Provide operational support for crew allotment and payroll processes.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (CPA preferred)
- 2–3 years of experience in general accounting, with prior experience handling an Indian legal entity being an advantage
- Strong understanding of tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and transactional accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus
- Highly analytical, organized, and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
