About the role

  • Supervise operatives, work closely with clients, and manage subcontractors and colleagues
  • Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance and completion of paperwork and reports
  • Ensure remedial actions are notified to the client and completed on time
  • Handle reactive, emergency breakdown tasks and minor project works
  • Line management responsibility for a team of engineers and skilled operatives
  • Ensure all staff complete required e‑learning and mandatory training
  • Work in partnership with the Helpdesk to ensure resources are allocated correctly
  • Be on a call out escalation rota
  • Complete all tasks within contractual time scales and audit where required
  • Review engineer‑completed RAMS for thoroughness and accuracy
  • Approve subcontractor RAMS in line with BAM’s procedures
  • Keep site‑specific risk assessments current and accurate
  • Reduce energy consumption on site
  • Ensure visiting sub-contractors meet work and health & safety standards
  • Adopt a flexible attitude assisting on other properties as needed

Requirements

  • Experience of electrical/mechanical maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment including air conditioning, plumbing, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable)
  • Building Management System (BMS) Experience & Troubleshooting
  • Experience of working within a mobile service delivery contract
  • Strong work ethic, honesty and reliability
  • Confidence in working independently
  • An understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), service targets and objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and ability to interpret management information
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Supervisory management experience (desirable)
  • Proactive approach
  • Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults
  • Capable of completing essential paperwork in accurate and timely manner
  • Computer literate and competent in using electronic devices (Knowledge of Concept desirable)
  • Full UK Drivers licence
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required
  • Ability to understand and work to the BAM values
  • Level 3 NVQ / Diploma – Industrial & Commercial Plumbing/Heating
  • G3 unvented hot water qualifications
  • Legionella responsible person (Desirable)
  • IOSH Managing safely
  • Domestic and Commercial gas (Desirable)
