About the role
- Overall responsibility for the Management of one of the large-scale sites reporting directly to the Construction Director.
- Responsible for the overall delivery of the project, managing a large staff and ensuring that the client’s requirements are met whilst maintaining the highest Safety, Quality and environmental standards.
- Deliver the project from design through delivery with a focus on sustainability.
- Effectively communicate with both client and design team.
- Be the main Point of contact for the client with responsibility for engaging with the client in conjunction with the commercial manager on site commercial decisions.
- Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure works are carried out to the required quality, Health & Safety, and environmental standards, in full compliance with the Planning Permission.
- Prepare the Project Execution Plan including Contracting Strategy, Programme, budget, and risks mitigation plan.
- Manage the daily operation of the site.
- Manage the Project Budget and Contract Administration in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor.
- Manage and adjust programmes as required to facilitate any changes (In conjunction with project planner/programmer).
- Liaise with Planning/Development Team to ensure project value-engineered during the Pre-Construction Stage.
- Manage the Project Design Team during construction to ensure coordination of information flow to the site teams.
- Coordinate key project stakeholders including statutory authorities and liaison with JV Project partners if necessary.
- Implement best practice in project controls, performance management, and Project Reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, iipmm, or equivalent) are a plus.
- Ideally 3-5 years of procurement, sourcing, or buying experience in the construction industry is preferred, but not essential.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier negotiations is required.
- Proficiency in procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., Coins or SAP).
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with e-procurement platforms and online tendering processes.
