About the role

  • Report to the Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering and support projects across Rowan’s data center portfolio
  • Lead internal and external teams to decisions and drive to outcomes across multiple projects and programs
  • Own and deliver areas of work to meet annual team goals and independently solve ambiguous problems
  • Lead, direct, and manage consultants in the design, procurement, and coordination of data center, substation, and power distribution infrastructure
  • Mold design, project scope, schedule, and deliverables as a technical SME for Build-to-Suit and Turnkey projects
  • Partner with procurement to deliver required equipment and support RFPs, review bids, and clarify technical requirements
  • Integrate with the energy team and act as technical liaison between consultants and utilities
  • Support growth of the engineering team by helping establish engineering standards and processes
  • Mentor the engineering team and nurture relationships with utilities and client technical experts
  • Support other technical tasks as required; travel up to 25% for site visits or company gatherings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • 6+ years experience in industrial, commercial or substation design with 3 years specific to mission critical or substations required (8+ years and 5+ preferred)
  • Experience delivering complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation
  • Experience working with external stakeholders including AHJ’s and utilities
  • Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of data center industry and trends
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and highly cross-functional environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Blue Beam Revu
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
