Internship in civil- or structural-focused environment within a corporate setting, working with Senior Engineers in small groups.
Structural internship: perform structural analyses of cell phone towers and prepare formal written reports detailing tower capacity and recommendations for modifications.
Civil internship: complete raw-land site development using Civil 3D, stormwater analyses, access road remediation and repair, minor structural calculations and permitting-related letters.
Work within existing processes to correctly open analyses projects.
Confirm accuracy of modification drawings and answer structure-related inquiries from internal and external sources.
Perform civil site analyses and generate road, grading, and stormwater designs.
Support generation of construction drawings showing antenna equipment placement.
Receive hands-on training with structural analysis software and theoretical-based training with licensed professionals.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Current enrollment in a 4–5-year college Engineering degree program required, with a civil and/or structural engineering focus preferred.
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
Proficient with computer software programs, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Ability to work independently.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
