About the role

  • Accountable for the overall performance of the manufacturing site
  • Responsible for the day-to-day plant operations including safety, quality, productivity, delivery, cost, labor management, and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with union leadership and ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement
  • Build a culture focused on operational excellence, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction
  • Manage daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, delivery, and cost targets
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, yield, scrap, uptime, and cycle time
  • Own site operating budget and cost performance including labor, overtime, scrap, and operating expenses
  • Drive cost‑reduction initiatives in partnership with cross‑functional teams
  • Partner with Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and capital planning
  • Champion quality systems and structured root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of defects
  • Implement and sustain Lean manufacturing practices (e.g., 5S, standard work, Kaizen)
  • Lead within a unionized workforce, administer the collective bargaining agreement, and support positive labor relations
  • Coach and develop supervisors to ensure consistent leadership, fair policy application, and strong shop‑floor execution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered
  • 6+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience in a multi‑shift environment
  • Strong knowledge of safety systems, production management, and continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to develop teams, influence across functions, and drive results
  • Demonstrated experience leading in a unionized manufacturing setting preferred
