Operate within the first line of defence in a digital mortgage introduction environment, managing compliance risks and maintaining regulatory standards
Provide practical guidance and hands-on support on FCA-regulated activity to business teams including sales, operations and product
Build strong, collaborative relationships across the business to embed compliance into day-to-day activities
Review and approve financial promotions, including content for social media and other digital channels
Prepare Board and governance reports, providing senior leaders with insight into compliance performance, emerging risks and Consumer Duty outcomes
Collaborate with external parties to support thematic reviews, audits and deep-dives and track completion of identified actions
Conduct regular horizon scanning to identify emerging risks and potential business impacts
Conduct policy gap analyses and process reviews, maintaining action trackers and asset libraries
Work closely with lenders and brokers; attend governance meetings and review management information to ensure good customer outcomes
Monitor Appointed Representative activity
Provide practical compliance advice to colleagues on projects, initiatives and day-to-day queries
Oversee the Training and Competence Scheme and monitor CPD progress
Regularly review and update compliance training materials to align with current regulations
Prepare and submit FCA RegData returns and manage Connect applications
Requirements
Practical experience in the mortgage sector or broad FCA-regulated environments
Solid understanding of compliance obligations
Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across multiple teams and levels and influence others
Experience in financial promotions or digital marketing compliance is advantageous but not essential
Good understanding of Consumer Duty principles
Commercially minded and able to make compliance advice practical and proportionate
Enthusiastic and proactive with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Clear and effective communication skills, able to explain complex compliance requirements
Attention to detail and ability to spot potential risks early
Thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment; able to switch between operational tasks and projects
Willingness to undergo DBS and credit check prior to offer
Experience providing compliance oversight of mortgage products (asked in application questions)
