About the role
- Responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the R&D laboratory and pilot lab facilities
- Manage a team of technicians, ensuring excellence in associate safety, food safety, ingredient and inventory management, and equipment maintenance
- Champion and enforce safety protocols, conduct safety audits and lead safety training
- Oversee implementation of food safety and sanitation protocols
- Manage processes for ordering, receipt, and storage of ingredients and supplies
- Manage day-to-day pilot lab operations and oversee facilities technicians
- Direct, coach, and develop a team of Facilities Technicians, fostering a collaborative culture
- Standardize processes and policies across both labs for operational excellence
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of safety, maintenance, inventory, and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to the food and beverage industry
- At least 5 years of experience in a food and beverage company or pharmaceutical company
- Previous experience in lab and pilot plant operations
- Experience with equipment and maintenance protocols
- Strong organizational and data management skills
- Ability to respond quickly to operational needs and emergencies
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality regulations, and compliance standards
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Awareness of Associate Safety and Food Safety guidelines
