About the role
- Ensure regulatory compliance and implement environmental management systems
- Review and interpret continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) data
- Collect samples for analysis as required by environmental permits
- Prepare and file reports required by environmental permits
- Liaison with environmental regulators for audits and inspections
- Perform facility inspections to ensure permit compliance
- Maintain compliance with Reworld internal environmental standards
- Develop and complete environmental improvement projects
- Provide training and technical assistance to facility employees
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science or similar
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the environmental field; preferably solid waste
- Working knowledge of New York State and federal solid waste environmental regulations
- Demonstrated experience developing permit applications and negotiating permit conditions
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work independently and creatively within the regulatory framework
- Strong computer, technical, and writing skills
