About the role
- Build, implement and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and documentation suitable for a high-growth AI startup
- Manage the full employee lifecycle in Germany, including onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and HR administration
- Act as a trusted HR partner to leadership and employees in a dynamic, scaling environment
- Work closely with the outsourced HR partner to maintain a robust HR database
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for Germany-based roles and offshore technical teams
- Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to translate business needs into clear hiring plans
- Manage performance management processes suitable for a startup environment
- Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture
Requirements
- 5+ years of HR experience, ideally including time in a tech or AI startup
- Strong understanding of German employment law and HR best practices
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with minimal structure
- Experience scaling teams from early stage to growth stage
- Experience partnering directly with founders and senior leaders
- Strong German communication skills; English proficiency is highly preferred
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented mindset.
