About the role

  • Build, implement and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and documentation suitable for a high-growth AI startup
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle in Germany, including onboarding, offboarding, contracts, and HR administration
  • Act as a trusted HR partner to leadership and employees in a dynamic, scaling environment
  • Work closely with the outsourced HR partner to maintain a robust HR database
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for Germany-based roles and offshore technical teams
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to translate business needs into clear hiring plans
  • Manage performance management processes suitable for a startup environment
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR experience, ideally including time in a tech or AI startup
  • Strong understanding of German employment law and HR best practices
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with minimal structure
  • Experience scaling teams from early stage to growth stage
  • Experience partnering directly with founders and senior leaders
  • Strong German communication skills; English proficiency is highly preferred
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented mindset.
