- Role summary: Senior Product Designer - Pay Ecosystem. Senior Designers at Remote are highly experienced and are masters of their end-to-end design craft. They autonomously own design for a dev team or feature area while supported by their larger team.
- Team context: The payroll team helps build experiences that empower our customers to pay anyone, anywhere safely and compliantly. This is one of our most strategically important and high profile teams at Remote. Here you will be challenged as a designer in the best way - this role is filled with fascinating, complex and meaty challenges that require primary research, robust strategy, innovative concepts and simple but brilliant execution.

- Responsibilities:
- DESIGN STRATEGY: You can develop strategy for your feature area of the product in partnership with leaders and cross functional collaborators. You can clearly understand business, user and technical needs.
- RESEARCH: You can confidently identify the right moment to do research, pick the right research methodologies and run your own research, with the support of UX research coaches. You have a firm grasp on common research methodologies.
- ENVISIONING: You are a key player in vision processes and concepting where you can rapidly work through mock ups and iterations to create excellent solutions. Your vision work is compelling and you can create breakthrough ideas. You are adept at using current and emerging AI tools and platforms to speed up and augment your design process, from ideation to delivery.
- VISUAL DESIGN: You can confidently bring high-fidelity designs to life at a high quality. You have a firm grasp on the UI skillset and can confidently use type, colour, layout and illustration to excellent effect.
- INTERACTION DESIGN: Your interaction design has increasing power and finesse - you can easily build usable flows, and prototypes to help the team make decisions. Your work is refined and you are considering the delightful and highly efficient details that make a loveable product.
- DESIGN SYSTEMS: You’ve mastered using the design system and are very familiar with how to use it to its best advantage. You know when to improve the design system rather than strictly following it.
- ARCHITECTURE AND MODELS: You can easily express highly complex flows and interactions that help those around you gain clarity. You contribute to building the information architecture of the product.
- COMMUNICATION: You are mastering much stronger storytelling skills around your work that persuade others. You can give and receive critique effectively to help others on the team. Your clear, transparent and kind communication helps drive the excellence of your team.
- COLLABORATION: You are mastering the feedback cycle, using it to improve your work and you know when to push back or compromise. Your design process is efficient, dynamic and reliable and it propels your team. You are becoming proficient at working with stakeholders.

Requirements
- An IC product designer who is very experienced and whose work history and portfolio demonstrates that they have clearly mastered the key pillars of their end-to-end craft. You are able to thrive in a high state of ambiguity and work with little direction to move projects forward.
- Work history that demonstrates your ability to autonomously own design for your team or feature area.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments. Deep experience in Payroll is a plus, along with Fintech, HR tech, B2B or SaaS.
- An impressive portfolio of work that shows how your design work consistently delivers outstanding results for both the business and for end users, with a clear focus on championing quality and pushing for delightful moments in complex platform experiences.
- Work that demonstrates your experience and product design craft via simplicity, typography, interaction design and UI design.
- Case studies that help us understand your full end-to-end design process from insight gathering through to defining the customer problem, conceptual design, delivery, measurement and optimization.
- Clear evidence that you are an effective cross-functional collaborator within your dev team who uses feedback, consensus building, and conflict resolution to drive great outcomes.
- Persuasive communication that helps you confidently build narratives around your design work to bring your team along with you - with clear, fluent written and spoken English that will help you communicate effectively with colleagues all over the world.
