About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain middleware services that connect internal and external applications (e.g., fraud detection, identity verification, credit scoring)
- Build APIs and integration layers to connect databases, services, and third-party systems
- Configure, optimize, and maintain the middleware platform
- Implement data encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols within middleware components
- Ensure integrations comply with regulations such as FCRA, GLBA, GDPR, CCPA
- Support secure API development, management, and auditing
- Develop and support Java microservices in an AKS service mesh to augment and replace legacy middleware
- Collaborate with development, architecture, support teams, Information Security, Project Management, QA and SRE to ensure platform security, performance, and stability
Requirements
- Current and extensive experience (5+ years) as a Java developer (experience with Spring framework a plus)
- Current experience with writing Web Services – Ideally using SOAP with XML or RESTful Web Services with JSON
- Experience in transactional low-latency API development
- Experience with containerized applications and cloud software delivery
- Experience with Java microservices in an AKS service mesh
- Experience with RDBMS and Document/Object Store data persistence (MySQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, etc.)
- Experience with Linux operating system
- Experience with message brokers and service mesh architecture
- Knowledge of data encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and mentor and train less experienced personnel
- Ability to deliver quality software deliverables
