About the role
- Manages all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for all application systems within areas of responsibility
- Develops technology solutions that increase the efficiency of internal business functions, resolves business problems, and supports the pursuit of business opportunities for areas of responsibility
- Creates and refines operational processes and systems to ensure effective regulatory and audit compliance
- Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
- Evaluates customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and assures compatibility of all interfaces
- Supports the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processes
- Technical Leadership: Experience managing engineering teams (ideally in infrastructure, DevOps, or enterprise systems); Understanding of IT operations, incident management, and escalation workflows
- Audit & Legal Support: Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR, HIPAA); Experience working with audit trails, data governance, and secure system design
- Support Engineering: Background in Level 2/Level 3 support; Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira), root cause analysis, and knowledge base creation
- Systems Engineering or DevOps background; Familiarity with SIEM tools, log aggregation, and monitoring platforms (Splunk, Datadog, etc.); Experience with automation (e.g., scripting in Python, PowerShell); Understanding of enterprise architecture and change management; Building teams from scratch — hiring, mentoring, and structuring; Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment with legal, audit, and operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Six (6) years of relevant experience
- Experience as a team leader
- Experience in a Technology role in banking or a financial services industry (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
- Strong organizational skills
