About the role
- Leads the examination of credit risk and ensures proper risk management practices are in place and utilized effectively
- Serves as lead examiner on occasion for specific reviews/examinations
- Provides continual feedback regarding existing or emerging risks or issues
- Actively identifies and mitigates risk in existing and proposed credit products transactions
- Maintains market knowledge of loan pricing and structural trends
- Coaches associates around client selectivity, loan and lease structuring, underwriting
- Oversees the hiring, training, development, and coaching of associates
- Works in conjunction with the appropriate managers and executives to support each business unit's performance goals
- Acts as a subject matter expertise and assists in managing the overall delivery of credit decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Seven (7) years of experience in commercial/bank underwriting or related experience
- Management/supervisory experience
- Experience with Fair Isaac credit models
- Experience in formal bank underwriting training
