About the role
- Report to the Company’s VP, Associate Counsel & Assistant Secretary
- Provide legal guidance throughout the entire lifecycle of financial products
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and manage risk
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams
- Represent Legal on cross-functional teams
- Review customer-facing materials for compliance
- Advise on regulatory matters and manage outside legal counsel
- Prepare legal documents including loan contracts and related documentation
Requirements
- Law degree and admitted to a state bar
- Familiarity with legal issues arising in consumer lending, bank sponsor programs, technology, and consumer protection
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the legal field
- Experience advising clients with respect to legal issues arising in consumer lending, technology, consumer protection, financial services and operations
- Ability to research laws and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth oriented environment
- Ability to travel 0-5%
