About the role
- Provide support for organizing Public Education & Outreach’s participation in outreach events
- Educate residents on Peel’s Public Works programs and initiatives
- Use promotional pamphlets, videos, props, and other tools provided to enhance message delivery
- Set up and take down booths and or displays for scheduled events
- Load and unload the Peel van with tables, chairs, displays, literature, and any other materials needed for an event
- Organize and keep inventory of materials needed for events
- Assist with the compiling of data from events which will be used to assess the performance and effectiveness of education programs
- Provide support for the Peel Children's Water Festival
- Complete other office work and duties as required.
Requirements
- Completed post-secondary education with related work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
- Proven customer service and public relations skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to problem solve
- Basic understanding of municipal services is an asset (water, wastewater, transportation and waste management services)
- Strong computer skills, utilizing MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid G Class driver’s license in good standing
- A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station.
