About the role

  • Provide support for organizing Public Education & Outreach’s participation in outreach events
  • Educate residents on Peel’s Public Works programs and initiatives
  • Use promotional pamphlets, videos, props, and other tools provided to enhance message delivery
  • Set up and take down booths and or displays for scheduled events
  • Load and unload the Peel van with tables, chairs, displays, literature, and any other materials needed for an event
  • Organize and keep inventory of materials needed for events
  • Assist with the compiling of data from events which will be used to assess the performance and effectiveness of education programs
  • Provide support for the Peel Children's Water Festival
  • Complete other office work and duties as required.

Requirements

  • Completed post-secondary education with related work experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Proven customer service and public relations skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to problem solve
  • Basic understanding of municipal services is an asset (water, wastewater, transportation and waste management services)
  • Strong computer skills, utilizing MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid G Class driver’s license in good standing
  • A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station.
