About the role

  • Analyze and provide advice with respect to Company’s real estate portfolio (e.g., leases, surveys, easements, declarations, eminent domain, environmental matters)
  • Apply innovative problem-solving skills in developing strategic solutions
  • Negotiate and draft documents
  • Jointly maintain property management databases with other users
  • Manage lease renewal process, including accurately identifying term expirations, renewal notice deadlines, and other material deadlines
  • Effectively manage outside counsel when retained
  • Be an effective resource for the real estate team
  • Assist with special projects and training of others

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of law firm or in-house experience as a real estate attorney with emphasis on commercial real estate transactions, including leasing
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing under the Bar of
  • Excellent communication, document drafting and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of in-house clients, peers and subordinates, and interact effectively with third parties
  • Demonstrated ability to independently make decisions regarding complex property documents with an in-depth understanding of the risks involved
  • Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical ability to recognize and creatively resolve issues
