About the role
- Analyze and provide advice with respect to Company’s real estate portfolio (e.g., leases, surveys, easements, declarations, eminent domain, environmental matters)
- Apply innovative problem-solving skills in developing strategic solutions
- Negotiate and draft documents
- Jointly maintain property management databases with other users
- Manage lease renewal process, including accurately identifying term expirations, renewal notice deadlines, and other material deadlines
- Effectively manage outside counsel when retained
- Be an effective resource for the real estate team
- Assist with special projects and training of others
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of law firm or in-house experience as a real estate attorney with emphasis on commercial real estate transactions, including leasing
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing under the Bar of
- Excellent communication, document drafting and organizational skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of in-house clients, peers and subordinates, and interact effectively with third parties
- Demonstrated ability to independently make decisions regarding complex property documents with an in-depth understanding of the risks involved
- Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Proven analytical ability to recognize and creatively resolve issues
