About the role

  • Perform engineering tasks under the direction of an experienced engineer
  • Become an active member of an agile development team, both scrum and kanban
  • Learn to collaborate and innovate with other engineers in your team
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and help deliver creative solutions
  • Work both on your own, remotely, and collaboratively with others in your team
  • Help mentor a transition year student, transferring your learned skills to the younger students
  • Contribute to the open-source community
  • Present a topic, not always technical, to the Cloud Services team at one or more of our Lunch & Learn events
  • Proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) for code generation, auto-completion, and intelligent suggestions to accelerate development cycles and enhance code quality.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us full time from June till December 2026
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Growth mindset; willingness to learn and challenge yourself
  • Ability to give and receive feedback in a meaningful manner
  • Passion for problem-solving and debugging technical issues
  • Some working knowledge/understanding of Git usage and workflows
  • A good understanding of scripting and programming with languages such Python, Golang
  • A basic understanding or knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Some understanding of configuration management, automation tools, and containerisation technologies
  • Active online presence (e.g. GitHub) with interest in community development is a plus.
