About the role
- Reporting to the Lead Level Design Director, you will be responsible for creating levels in line with the production's artistic vision.
- You innovate to design and decompose missions and assign tasks to collaborating teams to improve workflows.
- Use a creative vision to understand and develop a level's role within the overall game experience.
- Prototype environments, establish layouts, and propose the use of interactive and non-interactive elements to elicit the desired emotional response from the player.
- Collaborate closely with art and design teams to create and refine the gameplay experience.
- Master scripting to orchestrate level events.
- Integrate produced assets into the map as the project progresses (new gameplay elements, AI, sound, etc.).
- Manage level accessibility, clarity, and difficulty.
- Fix level-design bugs recorded in the database by the QA team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a level designer in the video game industry.
- Experience with Unreal Engine, 3DS Max, and familiarity with bug-tracking software (e.g., Jira).
- Strong knowledge of current gameplay trends and game systems.
- Understanding of French and English (spoken and written) is an asset.
