About the role

  • Reporting to the Lead Level Design Director, you will be responsible for creating levels in line with the production's artistic vision.
  • You innovate to design and decompose missions and assign tasks to collaborating teams to improve workflows.
  • Use a creative vision to understand and develop a level's role within the overall game experience.
  • Prototype environments, establish layouts, and propose the use of interactive and non-interactive elements to elicit the desired emotional response from the player.
  • Collaborate closely with art and design teams to create and refine the gameplay experience.
  • Master scripting to orchestrate level events.
  • Integrate produced assets into the map as the project progresses (new gameplay elements, AI, sound, etc.).
  • Manage level accessibility, clarity, and difficulty.
  • Fix level-design bugs recorded in the database by the QA team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a level designer in the video game industry.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine, 3DS Max, and familiarity with bug-tracking software (e.g., Jira).
  • Strong knowledge of current gameplay trends and game systems.
  • Understanding of French and English (spoken and written) is an asset.
