Provide pulmonary rehabilitation and therapeutic programming to patients enrolled in Recora’s pulmonary rehabilitation program.
Perform comprehensive health and therapy assessments including physical fitness, medical history, lifestyle habits, and psychological wellbeing.
Monitor patient progress and adjust rehabilitation plans; track exercise tolerance, heart rate, and blood pressure.
Verify orders and administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, and oxygen; deliver oxygen therapy as appropriate.
Perform pulse oximetry tests and six-minute walk tests (6MWT) and cardiac EKG monitoring during sessions.
Teach respiratory muscle training, diaphragm and pursed-lip breathing, and promote respiratory health techniques.
Develop individual treatment plans including exercise prescription and provide behavioral coaching and motivational support.
Provide education and counseling on health, nutrition, stress management, smoking cessation, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
Identify and address barriers to program completion and group education participation.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, progress, and communication; record data for program outcomes and reporting.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team (pulmonologists, nurses, exercise physiologists, physical therapists, dietitians) and report to Head of Care Operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in respiratory care or a related field.
BLS (Required)
CPFT or RPFT (Required)
CRT or RRT (Required)
ACSM-EP (Preferred)
3+ years of experience working in a clinical or rehabilitation setting with pulmonary patients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information in an understandable way.
Knowledge of pulmonary disease management, cardiopulmonary rehab prescription, and behavior change techniques.
Empathy and patience for patients with varying physical and emotional challenges.
Motivational and goal-oriented approach to patient care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
