About the role
- Act as the compensation & benefits subject-matter expert for France and Western Europe on all remuneration matters: base pay, benefits, incentive programs, profit-sharing/participation and legal obligations.
- Lead the profit-sharing and participation process in France, including annual negotiations and redesign of schemes.
- Own the annual salary increase campaign in France and contribute to harmonizing processes across Western Europe.
- Analyze market data, pay structures and benchmarks to ensure competitive and compliant compensation decisions.
- Provide expertise on French tax and social security implications, notably regarding taxable benefits and the inbound (impatriate) regime.
- Manage and support international mobility cases, including tax assessments and verification of documentation provided by external vendors.
- Collaborate with Payroll and HR Operations to ensure reliable execution of pay processes and resolve operational issues.
- Participate in meetings with employee representative bodies; present compensation topics, explain methodologies and support necessary changes.
- Contribute to the design and deployment of regional projects (e.g., benefits review, preparation for pay transparency, alignment of mobility standards).
- Ensure local adoption of global programs (annual campaign, performance & pay frameworks, recognition).
- Advise HRBPs, Recruiting and Finance teams on compensation matters to support decision-making and continuous process improvement.
- Work autonomously, propose improvements, challenge existing processes and stabilize areas impacted by recent HR transformations.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits (C&B)
- Strong knowledge of the French context: tax, social security, legal obligations and interaction with employee representative bodies
- Experience managing profit-sharing/participation schemes and annual salary review cycles
- Experience in matrixed and international organizations; FMCG experience is a plus
- Comfortable in a role that is both operational and autonomous, with strong analytical skills and good judgment
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and drive process improvements
- French – fluent (C2)
- English – fluent (C1)
